indefinitely after having surgery to repair a nagging groin injury.
Byrd's rookie season in 2009 was cut short by the problem. He was felled after
racking up 45 tackles and tied for the league-lead with nine interceptions in
14 games. The 23-year-old underwent procedures for the groin issue as well as
for a sports hernia in the off-season.
The second-round draft pick out of Oregon State may not be ready for Buffalo's
season opener on September 12 against Miami.
